DAY 1

Srinagar Airport

Arrival at Srinagar Airport and drive to Sonamarg via Ganderbal. The journey should take 2-3 hours. Sonamarg, which means "Golden Meadows", is a beautiful place to explore. Once you reach Sonamarg, you can spend your leisure time exploring the Sind River or doing snow activities at your own cost. If you're feeling adventurous, you can visit Thajwas Glacier via horse or pony at your own cost. Check in Hotel, Dinner, and overnight stay in Hotel

DAY 2

Sonmarg Zojila Kargil

After breakfast in the Sonmarg Hotel, drive to Kargil via Zojila Pass, War Memorial, and Drass. Have a magnificent view of the Kargil War Famous Peaks, Tiger Hill, Tololing, and visit Vijay Smarak. Then, drive along the Drass River till one arrives at Kargil and check in at the Kargil Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 3

Kargil - Aryan Valley – Back to Kargil (160km Round Trip)

The Aryan Valley, located along the Indus River in lower Ladakh, is known for its unique Brokpa (Minaro) community, lush greenery, and historical significance. This day trip from Kargil covers the villages of Dah, Hanu, Garkon, Darchik, and Chulichan, returning to Kargil by evening. The route via Batalik offers stunning Himalayan views and a glimpse into the region’s cultural heritage. Drive toward Batalik via NH1D (Srinagar-Leh Highway), then take the diversion toward Hamboting La Pass (approx. 3,900 m). Distance to Hamboting La: 50 km, Descend from Hamboting La into Aryan Valley. Visit Dah and Hanu villages first, known for their Brokpa culture, traditional wooden homes, and apricot orchards. Interact with locals to learn about their unique heritage, believed to be traced back to Alexander’s army. Stop at Garkon for its scenic beauty and small gompa (monasteries). If time permits, visit Darchik and Chulichan, smaller villages with serene riverside views. Head to Batalik, a key site from the 1999 Kargil War, offering panoramic views of the Indus River and nearby peaks. Visit the war memorial if accessible. Have a quick lunch at a local eatery in Batalik. Begin the return to Kargil via the same route (Batalik–Hamboting La–Kargil). Stop briefly at Shashi La Pass (if accessible, requires a short trek) for views of Nun-Kun peaks and the Suru Valley. Relax at your hotel or explore local markets for dried apricots, pashmina shawls, or brass handicrafts.

DAY 4

Kargil - Padim Via Suru

Suru Valley, nestled between Kargil and Pensi La Pass, is a lush, green oasis in Ladakh’s rugged terrain, thanks to the Suru River. This itinerary covers key villages like Sankoo, Maitrey Buddha Status, Panikhar Glacier, and Parkachik Glacier, drives to Suru Padum via Rangdum, and continues to Padum, the headquarters of Zanskar Valley, via Pensi La Pass views of Drand Drung Glacier and Zanskar. It’s a remote, scenic journey transitioning from Suru’s greenery to Zanskar’s stark desert landscape, featuring glaciers and monasteries. Check in hotel, dinner, and overnight stay in the Hotel

DAY 5

Padum Local Sightseeing

After breakfast at the Padum Hotel, you will explore Padum, the main city of Zanskar Valley. Today's itinerary includes visits to Zangla Monastery, Sheela Waterfall, and Padum Monastery. You will enjoy an overnight stay at the Padum Hotel, where dinner will be served.

DAY 6

Padum Jispa Via Shinkula Pass

Route: Padum → Purne → Kargyak → Shinkula Pass → Darcha → Jispa Depart Padum early due to the long, challenging drive. Drive to Purne (~50 km, ~2–2.5 hours) via Ichar and Raru villages. The road is a dirt track, scenic but rough. Optional: If time permits, trek to Phugtal Monastery (14 km one way from Purne, 5–6 hours round trip). Alternatively, view it from a distance. Stop Duration: 30 minutes (if skipping trek). Continue to Kargyak (~30 km from Purne, ~1.5 hours), the first village in Zanskar Valley on this route. Stop briefly for photos of the remote landscape. Ascend to Shinkula Pass (5,091 m, ~30 km from Kargyak, ~1.5–2 hours). The road is a jeep track with water crossings near Kurgiakh; drive cautiously. Stop at Gonbo Rangjon (sacred mountain, ~10 km before Shinkula Pass) for photography and a quick picnic. Descend from Shinkula Pass to Darcha (~40 km, ~2–3 hours). The road improves slightly but remains challenging. Pass Zanskar Sumdo (stream confluence). Stop in Darcha for lunch at a dhaba or packed food. Drive to Jispa (~7 km from Darcha, ~15–20 minutes) along the Bhaga River. Check into a guesthouse

DAY 7

Jispa Manali Via Atal Tunnel

After breakfast in Jispa Cottage, check out and drive to Manali via Atal Tunnel and drop at the Manali Volo Stand.
